Supervision
Clinical Supervision online or in person
Supervision is a vital source of support and learning, and is an opportunity to dive into all the different elements of the work we are doing with our clients.
Supervision should be a collaborative process, whereby therapist and supervisor explore the work together, to work towards the best outcome for the client, whilst supporting the on-going development and well-being of the therapist.
I offer supervisees a contained space, without judgement, where they are able to bring the highs and lows of their work and reflect on the different elements involved from different perspectives.
A good supervision session will leave both supervisee and supervisor feeling energised, engaged and passionate about the important work that we are doing.
My approach to supervision is loosely based on the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision (Peter Hawkins & Robin Shohet in 1985). The Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision is a model that includes a focus on the relationships between client and therapist and between the therapist and supervisor, along with how these fit into the wider context.
The seven eyes are:
1. Focus on the client in terms of what they bring and how they present - what actually happened in the session.
2. Focus on interventions - how the therapist intervened and why those interventions were used. How useful were they?
3. Focus on the relationship between the client and the therapist.
4. Focus on the therapist’s process.
5. Focus on the relationship between the therapist and the supervisor.
6. The supervisor focusing on their own process.
7. Focus on the wider context in which the work is happening and how this might be impacting the work.
Sessions can be either 50 minutes or 90 minutes.
Sessions can be face to face at Hamblys Natural Health Centre, Wadhurst, East Sussex or online via Zoom.
Supervision fees are £70 for 90 minutes and £50 for 50 minutes.
